Longman substation planned for summer

The fabrication, erection and cladding of a new substation building in Inverness is in the pipeline.

AJE has been contracted by Aviemore-based McGowan Environmental Engineering Ltd to carry out the works on the new building which will be located at Longman Drive in the Highland capital near to the Caledonian Stadium.

Leading on the project is Allan Martin.

It is expected that the erection of the building will begin in early summer.

Allan said: “Everything will go through the cut and drill line at Waterford and we hope that we will be on site in late May/June. It’s a 33/11kV substation building and will incorporate a switch room and a transformer room.”
