Recruitment drive and staff recognition

Graham Alexander with Matt MacPherson

A recruitment drive is underway at AJ Engineering with a number of posts currently being advertised and others being filled.

At the company’s HQ in Forres, two new fabricator welders have been employed with a new team of three now working in ‘stores.’

Meanwhile, under the guidance of Chris Roberts in our Carlisle office, two new site managers have recently started.

Several posts, including an estimating manager, and a number of apprenticeships including an accounting graduate and business management graduate are also being advertised.

Graham Alexander said: “AJ Engineering and NEWCo have been successful on a number of projects recently through ongoing relationships with longstanding clients and through newly developed relationships with other RSK companies. In addition to these recent project awards it is anticipated that there will be continued increase in workload, as there is significant investment in electricity transmission and water treatment nationally. In order to ensure we continue to benefit from these investments we are currently recruiting for many roles, workshop, office and site based.”

Staff acknowledgment

Manufacturing manager, Matt MacPherson’s  25 years of service to AJ Engineering was acknowledged last month with managing director Graham, presenting him with a small gift. Graham said: “It’s great to acknowledge Matt’s long service with AJ Engineering. Matt was one of the first employees and he has continually brought his experience and problem-solving capabilities to benefit many AJE clients.

The company also bid farewell to estimating manager Jim Thomson who had clocked up 24 years with AJE. We wish Jim all the best in his retirement.
