German steelworks beckon

International relations are very much on the books for AJE after securing works in Germany.

The work is for a site near to the Bavarian town of Gundremmingen and we are working on behalf of Irish firm HM&V Engineering who are a leading global provider of high-voltage engineering and construction services, with expertise in data centres, renewable energy and utility sectors.

The works being carried out are to fabricate and install the structural steelwork to form a pair of Trussed Towers tied together with a Trussed Cable Gantry in Gundremmingen.

Chris Roberts, Construction operations Manager said: “This will be AJE’s first time working in Germany and we are currently sorting out the logistics to make sure that this project goes smoothly.

“HM&V Engineering are a company I have worked with in my previous job, so it was great to be able to secure this new contract for AJE and be working with them again.”

He added: “At the moment we are helping to develop the design and once that is finalised the steel will be fabricated and galvanised and then transported to the site in Germany. There’s quite a team of us working on it to make sure it is delivered. The logistics involve sorting out all the transport, but we are working with a haulier who is experienced in delivering materials to the continent. The actual project itself is straightforward for us. It’s a great project to be involved with and I hope that this could lead to future projects with HM&V Engineering.”
