Staff roll grows with new apprentices
TWO modern apprentices in fabricating/welding have begun at AJE
Aleksander Urbanski and Ryan Ramsay joined the company at the start of the summer.
Ryan was inspired by working with his grandad when he was younger, whilst Aleksander likes the practical nature of the work.
Ryan has already completed his first year with another company and speaking about his move to AJE he said: “I am really enjoying it here and the amount of work that I am getting to do. It’s challenging and I really like that. I am looking forward to getting to go out on site.”
Ryan who likes being out in his car, on his motorbike and going to the pub added: “I used to do welding with my granda when I was younger. He has his own business and I just really like it.”
Aleksander completed a year at college doing a mechanical engineering course.
He said: “I have always liked to be practical. During my mechanical engineering course, I really liked the welding and machining part of it. I am enjoying being at AJE, it feels like a proper job. Whilst I was at college, I also worked in retail and I didn’t like it at all. It feels good to finish a shift and know that I have done a good day and achieved something good. It’s great to be getting paid for something that I have actually enjoyed doing whilst also learning on the job.”
Craig Johnston, fabrication manager said: “Both Aleksander and Ryan have slotted in well and they have both hit the ground running. We have taken on more apprentices to supplement the current growth of the company. They are showing promise and I have no doubt that they will become valued members of the AJE workforce.”
