AJE comes to rescue of rescue boat

AJE were delighted to provide our support recently to local charity, Moray Inshore Rescue Organisation (MIRO) with the donation of a new tow bar for their rescue vessel.

Recently during a call out, MIRO’s existing tow bar suffered some extensive damage whilst trying to move a large vessel which had unfortunately been beached in a low tide, this left MIRO without towing facilities which meant they were offline for a short period of time.

Pre-Construction Manager, Lee Binks of AJ Engineering, who has been a crew member of MIRO for over ten years said “Helping local charities like this is great, without the assistance of local companies like us pulling together to support them, it makes life much more difficult, and even better being able to support one that I am part off, I’d like to extend my thanks to Scott Duguid of E-Blast Kintore, who also played a role in this by powder coating the new tow bar free of charge, it’s greatly appreciated.”

Peter Mackenzie, Operations Manager for MIRO said “We’d like to pass our thanks to Graham Alexander, MD of AJ Engineering & Construction Services for agreeing to support us and to Graduate Project Engineer, Jack Lowes who carried out the design. Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without the skill of the fabricators and welders who manufactured the tow bar for us”
