Bolton works complete
The scale of the works carried out on a project in the northwest of England has been captured in this amazing drone image.
AJE has had a team working on improve
ment works at the wastewater treatment plant in Bolton which are now complete.
The AJE scope was to design, detail, fabricate, supply and install a new steel framework 134m long x 26m wide over the existing sludge plant lanes at the wastewater treatment works. The new structure also incorporates raised walkways running the full length, consisting of a primary walkway with bridge support frames for mechanical installation and two tertiary walkways. There are a further 12 walkways spanning the width.
The project for client JN Bentley on behalf of United Utilities has been led by Chris Roberts who said he was pleased to see the project now complete.
“It’s been an incredible project to be involved with and we are delighted to have completed on time for the client which is down to a magnificent effort from our design, fabrication and installation teams. Despite the fast-tracked programme we were able to maintain the programme and even accelerated some key activities ahead of schedule which enabled the client to progress mechanical and electrical installations. The drone footage really is spectacular and shows the huge scale of this project. We have lots of pictures from ground level, but the aerial photos really show the extent of the structure.”
