AJ Engineering Donates Centenary Shield to Grant Park Bowling Club
Grant Park Bowling Club in Forres marked its 100th anniversary with a celebration tournament and unveiled a brand-new trophy, the Centenary Shield donated by AJ Engineering.
The shield, presented by AJ Engineering’s managing director Graham Alexander, was awarded at the end of the competition which was held in August. The contest saw 12 three-person teams from across Moray and neighbouring areas take part. After a tense final, the Hopeman team triumphed over Elgin in a close-fought contest, cheered on by a large crowd of spectators.
Graham was also given the honour of presenting all the prizes on the day.
Club officials praised the company’s support, describing the shield as “a fitting talisman to mark our centenary” and expressing gratitude for AJ Engineering’s generosity.
Following the success of the anniversary event – which included plenty of bacon rolls, cakes, and camaraderie alongside the bowling – the club now hopes to make the tournament an annual fixture, with AJ Engineering’s continued support.
