Water Treatment Works continue to flow for AJE

Water & Waste Water Treatment works continue to be staple at AJ Engineering with Wilson Burnett overseeing two projects for ESD, one at Glenlatterach WTW just south of Elgin and the other at Ardersier WWTW.

At Glenlatterach, ESD is undertaking a major upgrade for Scottish Water. The Glenlatterach Water Treatment Works feeds water into the supplies for the geographic areas of Elgin, Forres, Dallas, Lossiemouth and Kinloss.

Phase One has involved the fabrication and installation of four stainless steel launder troughs which is now complete, these form part of the 4 new rapid gravity filters that will help to remove more impurities from the water.

Phase two will be for the full mechanical install of the new pumps, valves, ductile iron pipework and all the stainless steel pipework that is currently being fabricated in Forres. The hope is that this will be installed when works resumes on site once the new building has its roof on (being done by others). All of this equipment is associated with the new RGF Plant Building.

At Ardersier, the works have involved the fabrication of several stainless-steel tanks and all of the pump and valve skids, which are all now on site.

Wilson said: “We also have a number of steel work access packages and the first of these has now been installed, the next to be installed with the access steel work for the new aeration tanks and we are still at design phase for the new Inlet work steelwork.”
